Whether it is an assessee with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Australia or overseas, the major must include 9 of the following 12 core assessment courses, including 4 compulsory subjects relevant to the nominated occupation and 5 unrestricted elective subjects :
accounting systems and processes
financial accounting
management accounting
accounting theory
commercial law
economics
quantitative methods
finance
information systems design and development
auditing
taxation law
company law
The English language requirement for accounting skills assessment is as follows: IELTS Academic module with a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components. If an applicant with a qualifying Australian qualification only achieves an overall IELTS score of 6 in each component, they have the option to undertake additional accounting professional year courses. Upon successful completion of these courses, they will be eligible for the skills assessment outcome.
The skills assessment outcome for accounting is valid for a period of 2 years.
