ANMAC requires that registered nurses and midwives must have at least 3 years of undergraduate education, and postgraduate or higher midwifery courses must be more than 1 year; applicants must have a total score of IELTS Class A of not less than 4 7 or an OET test of 4 B or above, and meet the requirements of Australian high schools. Applicants who have studied for 5 consecutive years can be exempted from the English requirement. The evaluation period is 12-16 weeks and the validity period is 2 years.

ANMAC accepts nurse qualifications from the UK, Ireland, Canada, the US, Singapore, Hong Kong and EU member states; for holders of qualifications from countries other than the above, if you can provide nurse registration in the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada or midwifery in the UK and Ireland Registration and more than 3 months of local full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience are also recognized by ANMAC. Registered nurses and midwives need to provide relevant work experience within the previous 5 years; new registered nurses and midwives in Australia do not need to provide work experience but must have obtained AHPRA registration before applying.
